Cecilio Guzmán de Rojas (1899-1950) was a prominent Bolivian painter who spearheaded the indigenous art movement in Bolivia during the early 20th century. His work is notable for its celebration of indigenous themes and culture. One of his paintings, depicting the "Heroinas de la Coronilla" monument in Cochabamba, was featured on the reverse of this banknote. This particular note design included a face-to-back register device on the left side but lacked control numbers in the corners.
