Chinese Banknotes by Smith Matravers
I frequently refer to the Smith Matravers reference book called "Chinese Banknotes" on the website. It is sadly out of print but worth looking out for a second-hand copy if you are a collector of Chinese Paper Money.
Ward D. Smith & Brian Matravers were the authors 40 years ago. The reference book is still used by catalogues such as World Paper Money and The Banknote Book, amongst many others. The catalogue references are often cited as S-M, S/M or SM and the identifying number.
